Turkey has told abettors that it’ll reject Sweden and Finland’s class to NATO, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said in a videotape posted on his Twitter account on Thursday.
Finland and Sweden formally applied on Wednesday to join US- led NATO, a decision prodded by Russia’s irruption of Ukraine. Turkey’s expostulations have come as a surprise to the other members of the alliance.
“We’ll continue our policy in a determined way. We’ve told abettors that we will say no to Finland and Sweden’s NATO class,”Erdogan said in an interview with scholars late on Wednesday.

The Turkish chairman said Sweden and Finland harbour and finance”terrorists”and supply them with munitions, repeating Ankara’s blameworthiness that the countries supports groups that it deems terrorists, videlicet the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militant group and Syrian Kurdish YPG, which it also views as a terrorist group nearly tied to the PKK.
